Kentucky CAP Grant

The CAP Grant is gift assistance which generally does not have to be repaid.

You must:

  • demonstrate need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • be a Kentucky resident
  • be enrolled for at least 6 hours
  • complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and list Eastern Kentucky University on the application as a school choice (001963)

You cannot be enrolled in a program which leads to a degree in theology, divinity or religious education. CAP grants will not pay for correspondence classes. The expected family contribution, as determined by Federal Methodology, must be 4995 or below.

For a regular fall/spring term CAP Grant amounts will be adjusted based on enrollment level until the end of the drop/add period for each term.

KHEAA will notify you of your eligibility for a CAP grant.
